Delegate groups meet to submit proposals to NCC Work Committee

YANGON, 25 Feb — The meetings to seek approval for the proposals of delegate groups concerning the NCC Work Committee chairman’s clarification on 22 February on detailed basic principles for distribution of the legislative power to be included in the framing of the State Constitution to be submitted to the National Convention Convening Work Committee were held at the meeting halls of Nyaunghnapin Camp in Hmawby Township today.

Delegates of Political Parties

The Delegates of Political Parties held a meeting to compile the proposal to be submitted to the NCC Work Committee at the meeting hall No 1 at 10 am today. The master of ceremonies announced the validity of the meeting as 28 delegates out of 29 attended the meeting, accounting for 96.55 per cent. Member of the Panel of Alternate Chairmen U Saw Philip (a) U Philip Sam of Wa National Development Party, presiding over the meeting, gave an opening address.

U Tun Yi of National Unity Party read out the proposal of Delegates of Political Parties concerning the NCC Work Committee chairman’s clarification to detailed basic principles for distribution of the legislative power to be included in the framing of the State Constitution.

The meeting approved the proposal of the Delegates of Political Parties to be submitted to the NCC Work Committee. Later, the meeting ended with concluding remarks by the alternate chairman.

Delegates of National Races

The meeting of the Delegates of National Races was held at the Pyidaungsu Hall at 2 pm. Duwa Zok Daung of Shan State (North) presided over the meeting together with members of the Panel of Chairmen U Mahn Ohn Maung of Kayin State and U Kyaw Din (a) U Thay Yai of Kayah State.

The master of ceremonies announced the validity of the meeting as 608 delegates out of 633 attended the meeting, accounting for 96.05 per cent.

Member of the Panel of Alternate Chairmen Duwa Zok Daung gave a speech. Next, U Aung Zan Wai of Rakhine State read the proposal regarding the NCC Work Committee chairman’s clarification on detailed basic principles for distribution of the legislative power to be included in the framing of the State Constitution.

The meeting approved the proposal to be submitted to the NCC Work Committee. Afterwards, the member of the Alternate Chairmen gave concluding remarks.

Delegates of State Service Personnel

Delegates of State Service Personnel held a meeting at the meeting hall No 7 at 9 am. Member of the Panel of Alternate Chairmen U Arnt Maung presided over the meeting together with members of the Panel of Alternate Chairmen Maj-Gen Aung Thein and Dr Myat Myat Ohn Khin. The meeting was attended by 107 delegates out of 109, accounting for 98.17 per cent.

Member of the Panel of Alternate Chairmen U Arnt Maung gave an address. National Convention delegate U Nyan Tun read the proposal of the Delegates of State Service Personnel relating to the NCC Work Committee chairman’s clarification on detailed basic principles for distribution of the legislative power to be included in the framing of the State Constitution.

The meeting chairman sought the approval for the proposal to be submitted to the NCC Work Committee. Afterwards, the member of the Alternate Chairmen gave concluding remarks.

Delegates of Other Invited Persons

Similarly, Delegates of Other Invited Persons held a meeting at the hall No 8 at 9 am. Member of the Panel of Chairmen U Tun Aung Chein presided over the meeting together with members of the Panel of Alternate Chairmen U Paw Laik Kham, Dr Manan Tu Ja, U Aung Hkam Hti and U Sai Aung Tun. The meeting was attended by 94 delegates out of 100, accounting for 94 per cent.

Member of the Panel of Alternate Chairmen U Tun Aung Chein spoke on the occasion. Member of the Panel of Chairmen Dr Manan Tu Ja read the proposal of the Delegates of Other Invited Persons concerning the NCC Work Committee chairman’s clarification on detailed basic principles for sharing of the legislative power to be included in the framing of the State Constitution. The meeting chairman sought the approval for the proposal to be submitted to the NCC Work Committee and gave concluding remarks.
