We do not accept lies and gossip

At a time when we are striving for the emergence of discipline-flourishing democracy by taking all possible measures in administrative, economic, education, health, social, religious and democracy affairs wishing peaceful, secure and prosperous conditions for the people residing in the Union of Myanmar, the western neo-colonialist nations and their allies plus national traitors in exile are inventing all kinds of falsehood with the use of the media. They are doing so with the ill intention of creating chaotic situations in the country worse than that in 1988. They have intensified their media war against Myanmar with the use of gossip made up of bias, lies and exaggerations, in order to create suspicions and cause destruction in the country. They think that they know everything and that nothing is possible without them. It is thus very annoying to learn what they have been up to posing as masters and interfering in our internal affairs.

At the same time, certain conceited axe-handle traitors, devoid of maturity and proper outlook and bent on destroying their own nation, are making contact with personalities of lower or upper houses of certain nations asking the latter to intervene and interfere in the internal affairs of the country and requesting the aliens to impose economic sanctions and not to deal with the country. They would like to do harm to the country and the people since they could not realize their objectives.

Because of such ill intentions and misdeeds and being overwhelmed by the greed, anger and delusion, they are stinking. Yet, they have approached member nations of the United Nations Security Council and begged them to take such and such actions against the country under cover of democracy. Do they really love their country? Do they have sympathy for their relatives? They have been brought up here in the country but they have no consideration to repay the gratitude. They have no pride of being Myanmar nationals. They do not care how low and awkward their position will be so long as they can become the puppet government with strings attached. I would like to warn those modern Azatathat.

I want them to think hard. They should consider if their acts would do good or harm to the country. They have been made to wear dark glasses. There are also strings or constraints imposed on them. They should carefully look back. It is not late yet. As peace prevails in the country all the national races are working in concert for the emergence of discipline-flourishing democracy while the National Convention is in session discarding doubts and suspicions that existed in the past.

In the world today, the people in some countries have experienced bloody conflicts resulting in starvation and all kinds of misery. Despite such tragic events, less sympathy is shown and many have ignored them. The pessimists and the axe-handle traitors pretend not to see them; they keep quiet. When they do not get what they want, they get hostile and would invent stories saying that the leader or the government concerned is bad; and they would set one against the other. When work is well under way to reach the goal following our own chosen path freely, the traitorous elements are opposed to the realization of the goal aspired by the people. This being so, they long for the neo-colonialist western nation. They become too friendly with the big nation which, in fact, is the neo-colonialist thinking it to be the saviour.

Those greedy and sly tigers, pretending to be saviours, have discarded the international opinion, colluded with its allies and committed evil acts with the use of powerful lethal weapons. They have caused bloody deaths to the public and destruction to buildings, businesses and religious structures. Those lacking the four cardinal values or sublime states of mind would rejoice to see such human sufferings.

Tigers, either those kept as pets or those in the jungles would be the same; they would like to see blood, however much it is. Like manner, the tiger-like neo-colonialists are happy when they see the bloody bodies and tragic scenes. Are we going to let this happen to us? If they long for the stepfather to take care of internal affairs, go around the world and cause trouble to own people, we will become slaves and finally lose our own race. If they go on attempting to seize power in the name of democracy, they will gain nothing but lose the pride and dignity. Are they committing misdeeds because they do not know the evil consequences? Are they willing to see own people in difficulty by colluding with the media, the elements in aboveground and those underground?

The colonialists are bad in every aspect. No country would pay greater attention to anyone except oneself. They wish to see piles of human bones in other countries to serve their interest. Nothing can be expected from them. They are cruel and ruthless by nature. They are devoid of goodwill, loving-kindness and compassion. We experienced the miserable life under the colonialists for over 100 years and there was sufficient evidence throughout history.

In Myanma history, the case of expatriate Myingoon may be cited. Bloody wars, deaths and destruction in the world today should be seen with sympathy. The traitorous axe-handles should not commit such evil acts. If these tragic events are accepted, where is the saviour, where is democracy, where is human right, where is humanitarian spirit, where is freedom, where is freedom from suppression, where is the fulfilment of the people's basic needs? If they continue to level false allegations against Myanmar nothing good can be expected. It will be better to remain unchanged. If we beg the sly and cruel tiger for help, we will become its puppets with no freedom to shape our own destiny or to build democracy. Can we or should we accept such situation? Be thoughtful. Long for or rely on the stepfather neo-colonialist only if it is really worthwhile.

In own country, it would not be worse than that under the influence of the evil tiger under any circumstances. National leaders and martyrs strove to courageously repulse the colonialists and fascists. They drove out all the foreign elements harbouring ill will towards us. History stands witness to the fact that Patriotic Myanmars sacrificed a lot of sweat, blood and human lives standing in front of the national people and winning back the national independence. These should not be forgotten and they are the strength of our people. Martyrs were assassinated on 19 July by the axe-handles who crazed for power. These were tragic events that should not recur.

For the betterment of social, economic and transport conditions of the people, the Tatmadaw government has built thousands of miles of motor roads and railroads, opened airfields wherever necessary and facilitated waterways in the nation. One should see things in the right perspective.

Now national brethren can travel easily to every part of the nation, hilly regions or plains. They can enjoy their basic needs such as food, clothing and housing. According to Buddha’s teachings ‘one should abstain from any type of intoxicants’, Myanmar people have been crushing the danger of narcotics that can wipe out the entire mankind. All the narcotic drugs seized were incinerated and this was made known to the world. Now is the time when the Tatmadaw is endeavouring to destroy all poppy plantations in all regions of the nation with the strength of the people and members of Myanmar Police Force. It is known to all that the government is undertaking the projects for opium-substitute crops cultivation. Upholding the saying that goes ‘action speaks louder than words’, the government has launched operations against poppy cultivation in the nation during which a great number of Tatmadaw and MPF members sacrificed their lives. Besides, in cooperation with national race leaders, the government is working day in, day out for the eradication of opium.

Despite the government’s efforts, a big power of the west bloc with no sympathy and loving-kindness, blocked assistance to the nation.

Over a period of 17 years, the present government has been able to make peace with 17 national race armed groups and even with those leftists and rightists who put up armed struggle for over 40 years. This had not been achieved by any successive governments in the past. In addition, it can be witnessed that the government is implementing 24 special development region projects across the nation. As a result, realizing the goodwill of the State, all national brethren as well as the 17 national armed groups, which have returned to the legal fold, are working together with the government for the development of respective regions.

Reviewing the tasks the Tatmadaw government is implementing, political, economic, social, education, religious, national races, health and administrative affairs are progressing proportionately. In the political field, the National Convention is now in session, keeping ‘Our Three Main National Causes’ in the fore by laying down the seven-point Road Map of the State. Delegates from all walks of life are participating in the National Convention to march towards a discipline-flourishing democratic nation. As for the education sector, new generation youth are able to attend schools and institutions and universities opened by the State in their own regions. More housing projects are being implemented throughout the country. Reclamation of land has been extended, and single cropping has transformed to double cropping and mixed cropping on all vacant land. More dams and reservoirs have been built and underground water tapping projects are being undertaken in arid regions.

Health standard of the country is raised and delicate surgical operations can be carried out now. Amateur and professional artistes are taking part in the Myanmar traditional performing arts competitions to uplift the national prestige and integrity. In the transport sector, a great number of facilities such as bridges across rivers, bridges across creeks, roads and bridges and overpasses have been and are being constructed in the nation. At the same time, measures are being taken for total elimination of narcotic drugs. However, the big power that is in a position to influence western media and talking about human rights, human interest, importance of good health and assistance is blocking any form of assistance to our country; I would like to ask why it is doing so. Is it because our country has never bowed as a puppet to this big power?

Myanmar people with diligence are determined to eliminate narcotic drugs and to implement poppy-substitute crops cultivation projects covering all available land without outside assistance.
