Attempts to bring Myanmar under Western influence

It is natural that human society develops in accord with its objective conditions. What I mean here is that a human society development is based on its own history, traditions, culture and lifestyle.

The development and changes that occurred in the US and western nations were different from the Asian nations. Even development trends among the western nations can be different from one another, and so is among the Asian nations. Former colonies after regaining independence shaped their own destinies. In this age, nations that are transforming themselves from socialism into market economy adopt their own systems. The way some East European countries and China are making changes differ from each other. Likewise, Myanmar’s democracy transition programme is also different from others. Only if we can make changes in line with our social system, will we be able to facilitate our process and achieve success according to objective conditions.

After the World War II, US and some big western nations tried to invade a number of Asian nations resorting to force to realize their goal — the flourishing of democracy. But all their schemes failed. They had to pay a high price for their doomed ventures.

China and Vietnam are in the course of undergoing changes and reforms not because of outside sanctions and pressures, but because of their domestic requirements. Generally, a country’s changes are based on its internal requirements.

The democracy favoured by the US cannot be realized even in Iraq and Afghanistan that are under the occupation of the US and its allies.

The basic force for human civilization evolution covering economic, social, political, religious, industrial and cultural sectors is the surplus value. The modern political science says that surplus value is the seed of community productivity development.

In reality, nations in their process of transition to market economy and democracy are introducing capitalism. According to modern political science, the evolution of capitalism is as follows:

Because of the policy to transform the surplus value into capital and boost production, the capitalist democracies are able to build myriad infrastructures.

All the super expressways, industries, airports, sea-going ships, planes, cars, shipyards, ports, irrigation networks, bridges, nuclear power stations and enterprises are the lifeblood of the development of capitalism.

The Tatmadaw government today is tirelessly striving for flourishing of democracy and market economy. Successive developments can be seen clearly in various sectors. What’s more, the developments in market economy and gradual progress in introducing the multi-party system bear witness to the government’s endeavours.

But a western power and minions with the destructive intention, are imposing economic sanctions against Myanmar, cutting off all soft loans, technological assistance and humanitarian aid to her, and demanding the UN Security Council to take action against Myanmar. They are using exaggerated slanders as a weapon.

Why are they trying to take action against Myanmar in a lopsided way? President Bush used two words “freedom and liberty” 49 times in his inaugural address delivered on 20 January.

But freedom and liberty the US has advocated for the entire world is according to its standard. In reality, it is demanding the whole world to yield to its domination. However, the global concern is the rise of colonialism-based narrow nationalism and the US self-interest.

Once, a large number of world nations thought highly of American way of life. Many of them faced devastation for copying the American model. Some were shocked at US democracy after seeing the collapse of the World Trade Centre on 11 September 2001.
Today, many nations are choosing the system that may go along well with their own characters, freedom and way of life. They maintain international relations, based on mutual respect and recognition. They abhored and revolted against the evil and old systems of invasion, enslavement, domination and interferences.

The 19 October issue of the International News Journal featured a news report on President Putin turning to Asia.

The report said although Asian nations are in favour of strengthening relations with Russia, their goals may differ from one another. But what was common among Asian nations was they disliked lopsided acts of the US. America’s one-sided acts in Iraq was the example.

The report added the Asian nations did not support the US-sponsored democracy revolutions. One example was that the Asian nations opposed US attempts to launch democracy revolutions in Georgia, Ukraine and Tajikistan.

It said it had become a common practice for Asian nations to oppose the lopsided military actions of the US. The Asian nations do not want to accept the US’s lopsided actions including the use of force, based on a number of excuses, as Iran and Syria may become its next military targets. China included in those Asian nations is worried about US lopsided acts, with Taiwan as the source of the problem. The report said some Asian nations assumed that US intervention only created problems that both the US and the nation concerned could not solve. Other Asian nations oppose the US acts to shape the global politics without their consent.

The global people have already understood that the US attempts to shape the world is to put the international community under its domain. In the same vain, the perpetration of Desmond Tutu and Vaclav Havel to call on the UN Security Council to act against Myanmar according to their western masters, using exaggerated slanders, is an attempt to bring Myanmar under western influence.
